Certified translations for naturalization (N-400)
Documents in Spanish that you send with your naturalization case need a complete English translation with the translator's signed certification. Documents already in English do not need a translation. We do not give legal advice and we are not affiliated with USCIS: check the form instructions at uscis.gov.
Documents people commonly translate
- Marriage, divorce or death certificates that document your marital history
- Birth certificates of children, when the form asks for them
- Court or police records, including certified dispositions, when you have been arrested or cited
- Any other foreign-language evidence your form instructions ask for
What you must send depends on your own history. Ask your attorney or check uscis.gov.
A worked price example
Two one-page court records and one marriage certificate are three standard pages: 3 x US$10 = US$30. Handwritten, blurry or heavily stamped records are quoted individually. Final price is confirmed in writing before you pay.
Before you send your documents
- Court and police records often have several pages and stamps. Send every page.
- Names are translated exactly as written. Tell us in the form if your passport spells a name differently.
- If we make a mistake, we correct it at no charge.
What we do not promise
We cannot guarantee that an agency will accept a translation or approve a case. We deliver a complete, certified translation.
