Common questions

Do I need the long form or the short form?
Translate whichever version you will submit. If an agency asks for the full record, send the full record. We translate exactly what is on the document. For Mexican documents this is usually the difference between the full certified copy (acta certificada) and an extract (extracto).
Can you translate a birth certificate that is a photo on my phone?
Yes, if every line is readable. Send the whole document, both sides, in good light and without cropping.
How do you handle seals, stamps and names?
We translate the text of seals and stamps or describe them in square brackets, and we keep names with their original accents and spelling (for example ñ, á and double surnames). If your passport spells a name differently from the document, tell us when you request your quote.
What is a certified translation?
A certified translation is a complete translation accompanied by a signed statement from the translator that the translation is accurate and that they are competent to translate from the source language into the target language. Linguapair includes this signed certification with your translation.
How is pricing calculated?
Standard documents are priced at $10 per standard page, where a standard page is up to 250 source words, with a $15 minimum order. Rush service adds 50% of the order total. Handwritten, blurry or technical documents start at $20 per standard page. Offices ordering 20 or more pages a month pay from $8 per page. You always see the price before you commit.
